my Photography over the years
welcome to my photography site...
Hello, and welcome to my dedicated photography site, packed full of a disparate amount of photographs taken over many a year. Like my writing, my photography - such as it is - has always been a little eclectic. I love trying to take acceptable sunset photos wherever (and whenever) I can. I love taking images of buildings from interesting angles as well as specific studies of aspects of them. The taking of a great Landscape is something I aspire too and this again requires a different approach altogether. No matter your subject, a photographer is trying to paint with light the images they see - and there are myriad ways this can be achieved or explored.
I have also dabbled in taking images at music 'gigs' over the years; Ezio, The Police, Genesis, Camel, Yes, Newton Faulkner and Peter Gabriel to name but a few. I love taking photos at gigs, love the lights, the action, the challenge of taking good photos in a difficult setting and I admit that I haven't always taken photos that I've been pleased with at every gig, but I have always relished the challenge. I have even been 'commissioned' (OK that's just a posh way of saying that a friend asked me) to take photographs at Parties, several Weddings - one of which was incredibly challenging as it was by candlelight - and Events (such as an Award Ceremony, which was a Commission).
Anyway, these are just a few of my photographs and I hope you enjoy a couple of them - but PLEASE don't use them without at least acknowledging where the image came from! (Copyright and ethics and all that jazz.) The images in the first Gallery are 'as taken' and have not been edited, adjusted or enhanced in any way. Apart from perhaps a crop, they are as they came out of the camera. The same cannot be said of those included in Gallery #2 ...
So, have a look through them and know that I'm trying to take the best photographs I can and I hope that, in the future, they'll be better than those here!
