I've not updated for a while due to the summer holidays and things more family orientated.
But I thought I'd update this site as yesterday I started the next step in my academic photography journey - the NCFE Level II Creative Craft course in Photography. I've been waiting to get onto this course for some time and after passing an assessment in Colchester last week, I managed to secure myself a place on a course in Brentwood on Thursday mornings. The Tutor for this course is Richard, the rest of the cohort are all seasoned students and they all know each other from previous courses, so I spent yesterdays 'Study Skills' course just watching the interplay between them and soaking up the atmosphere. They all seem very friendly and it will be fun getting to know this group over the coming weeks. This new course is an extension of the Level I course (well obviously!) and the subjects covered look to be both challenging and enjoyable. This first Study Skills course was a refresher over the main issues ACL want students to be aware of (including the very important 'Prevent' strategy) and we spent an hour or so taking the various parts of the course to ensure that we are familiar with the course requirements and in a position to complete the course over the next 20 weeks. I'm not sure if a blog is required for this second course but even if it is not, I will try to complete my weekly photography blog as I have done in the past - it was fun for me and it's not like anyone actually reads this now is it? Stay safe and keep taking the photos... ARC

Alan MitchellI'm always trying to capture that fleeting 'moment' in time -whether by taking a photo or writing a poem. My attempts to capture that illusive feeling, sight, sensation or sound in some way is, to me, magical. Archives
